Wedding in an old Medieval village

Rocca Calascio and Santo Stefano di Sessanio (L’Aquila): two dream Abruzzese locations for Luca and Jessica’s wedding. Young, beautiful and in love; he is Italian, she is from Chile, and last September they took their wedding vows thousands miles away from Australia, the land where their love story blossomed and where they currently live.

The wedding day started at Sextantio, a scattered hotel in Santo Stefano di Sessanio where Luca and Jessica prepared themselves in fabulous wedding clothes: a Tom Ford suit for the groom, while the bride wore a gorgeous dress which she had designed herself.

The ceremony moved to the church of S. Maria della Pietà, not far from Rocca di Calascio, which offers breath-taking, cinematic views, ideal for a wedding video. The 16th century building dominates the Navelli plane and the Tirino valley. Here, Luca and Jessica, glowing with happiness and love, exchanged their wedding rings and the vows of a life together.

The reception, as intimate as the rest of the ceremony, was held at Locanda Sotto gli Archi, not far from the small church. There, the spouses honoured friends and relatives with a wonderful surprise: a hand blended artisanal perfume realised with a mix of fragrances at the guests’ choice.

At the end of the day the air was still filled with the joy of a fulfilled love, and our hearts with an unforgettable memory.
