Ashley and Terrence, a wonderful young American couple, decided to celebrate their Italian-style wedding at Lake Como, adding an unmistakable Californian, hippy and bohemian touch to the whole event!
“We knew that our wedding theme was going to be unique and non-traditional”, Ashley says. The location they chose is the first sign of this extravagance: Giardino del Merlo, a splendid example of vertical garden overlooking the lake.
Fashion played an essential role too. The bride, who owns the fashion brand Daughters of Simone, is wearing one of her new creations, a gorgeous dress from the upcoming collection. The entire ceremony has been organised like a fashion show, with even a “natural” catwalk (the arrival at the garden).
Ashley designed many of the dresses at her wedding, keeping in mind another passion of hers: the tv series Game of Thrones. “I imagined my bridesmaids wearing golden crowns and long pearl capes – Ashley continues. I don’t know if I got too obsessed with the fashion shows of Elie Saab or with Game of Thrones, but these were the two inspirations that I combined, and I immediately loved the result!”.
The party was held at the swimming pool of Villa Camilla, for the occasion transformed in a fairy tale set, embellished with candles, a vintage-style lounge area, and Christine Cater’s fantastic flower arrangements. The guests had the pleasure to enjoy finger food, taste Amandine Anglade delicious cake, and dance throughout the night, bringing a Californian vibe right at the heart of Lake Como.
