Wedding at Castello Vicchiomaggio

A wedding in Tuscany, in the Chianti region; can you imagine something more romantic? And when the location is Vicchiomaggio Castle, in the area of Florence, romanticism gives way to beauty and history. Here, in this marvelous estate in the Florentine countryside, Thierry and Catherine‘s dreamy wedding came true.

The couple eagerly went through the whole preparation; they were more than thrilled. The ceremony, sober and simple, took place in an area explicitly arranged next to the Castle’s main gate, which dominated the view with its charm and its timeless architecture. An absolutely touching moment witnessing the encounter of traditions and cultures. Catherine is from Quebec; thus, her brother could officiate at the civil rite both in French and in English. But, they didn’t forget to add a mediterranean touch to it. On the couple’s heads, two olive wreaths paid tribute to Catherine’s Greek ancestors.

After the kiss and a long lasting applause, here you are a new setting; a dinner in the Castle’s courtyard. Ornaments were extremely accurate and in a perfect Italian style; however, the colorful lamps swinging all over the table honored Thierry’s origins with a touch of Eastern taste. Guests enjoyed Thierry and Catherine’s happiness – which warmed that night of July up with laughs and peace – and they also had the pleasure to enjoy the breathtaking view on Chianti’s hills, one of the best panorama of Tuscany.

The party didn’t betrayed the expectations; indeed, old and young people went wild on the the dance floor. They even tested themselves on the traditional Greek dance that saw Catherine and Thierry fly over the enchanting night of Greve in Chianti.
