British wedding in an Apulia masseria
Apulian masserie deserve a special place among the hidden treasures of our beautiful country. A masseria is an old stone farmhouse, where peasants, shepherds, and land barons used to live.
They have recently become very popular also as exclusive wedding venues. Masseria Potenti is certainly among our favourite ones: the holiday farm, originally part of an 11th-century old-settlement, was brought back to life by Maria Grazia, her husband Paolo, and their sons. Their love for local traditions, attention to detail, and courtesy make this location simply unforgettable!
Its charm immediately seduced Charlee and Darren, as well as us. The two English spouses have celebrated their wedding here, during a typically warm southern Italian day of June, under a sky of the very same bright blue colour of the sea. Extremely moved, the spouses have soon abandoned their apprehensions and, enchanted by the unique colours and atmosphere of the Masseria, have celebrated their big day in a perfect Apulian style. They reached the Masseria riding an old Fiat 500, and pledged their vows to each other in the midst of an olive grove. Finally, it was time to get wild dancing “pizzica”, a typical local dance.
Every detail, from the spouses’ outfits (by Rue de Seine and Paul Zileri) to the general arrangement, contributed to making the wedding exclusive and elegant. We had the pleasure to narrate this wonderful day together with the fantastic Nick and Rory from Mangored Studios.
